Medical Assistant/ Nurse LPN Jefferson Co

Due to critical service need of the communities we serve, we are offering a $3000 sign-on bonus for Medical Assistants; additional $3000 for Nurses.

The Medical Assistant/Nurse LPN is part of the person-centered integrated care team and establishes and maintains effective, professional working relationships with patients and their representatives and with medical staff.
The Medical Assistant upholds all guidelines set forth in the clinic, maintains strict patient confidentiality, accepts and upholds patient service and satisfaction and assists practitioners and physicians in delivering health care services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - JOB SPECIFIC MA brings patient back from the waiting room and completes intake including vitals, medication reconciliation, medical history, and Quality Measures in the EMR Present End of Visit materials to patient including labs, referrals, and educational teachings including demonstration of new medications/DM supplies Performs lab testing as ordered by the clinician (including pediatric/adult immunizations, venipunctures, EKGs, assisting the clinician with exams, minor surgical procedures, non-surgical procedures, tray set-up, etc) Checks patient related messages and reviews them with clinicians.
Makes return phone calls to patients, pharmacies, and other groups with clinician recommendations Assists assigned clinician with patient cases, labs results, medication refills, etc.
Maintains Vaccines for Children (VFC) log sheets as assigned by the Supervisor Administers injections as ordered by the provider and as assigned by the Supervisor Meets face-to-face with clients/patients at scheduled medical or psychiatric appointment to obtain required data for meaningful use criteria Performs other miscellaneous duties assigned by the Supervisor (i.
e.
follow up boxes, lab/exam room organization, sterilization of instruments, etc) As part of the Care Team, understands the NCQA Patient Center Medical Home Standards and expectations Prepare and present patient information to Care Team during regularly scheduled morning huddles Many of the functions listed are those of a Medical Assistant operating within a Primary Care clinical environment, and an MA would need to be appropriately trained and/or certified to allow for the completion of such tasks High School/GED required One (1) Years experience Preferred, will train new graduate Medical Assistants Knowledge of medical office terminology, procedures, and equipment preferred Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite preferred Practical Nursing certificate required, if Nurse LPNLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION Medical Assistant Certification or LPN or GPN that must pass the MO NCLEX exam within 90 days of graduation required CPR certification required or obtained within 30 days of employment Annually required respiratory protection fit test Compass Health Network is a nonprofit health care organization offering accessible, comprehensive, & compassionate behavioral health, substance use treatment, family medicine and dental services throughout Missouri.
